Refractories: United States
Description
This report forecasts to 2030 US refractory demand in metric tons. Total demand is segmented by material in terms of: clay; magnesite and chrome; extra-high alumina; other nonclay refractory materials such as ceramic fibers, dolomite, graphite and carbon.
Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: iron and steel; nonferrous metals; nonmetallic minerals; other markets such as chemical manufacturing, petroleum refining, waste incinerators, and power generation boilers
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2019 to 2025; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2019 and 2025.
For this study, refractories are defined according to the ASTM International definition: “nonmetallic minerals having those chemical and physical properties that make them applicable for structures, or as components of systems, that are exposed to environments above 538 degrees Celsius (1,000 degrees Fahrenheit)”. Materials that are resistant to lower temperatures are excluded.
Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
