Geosynthetics: China

This report forecasts to 2028 geosynthetics demand in square meters in China. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: geotextiles, geomembranes, geogrids, geonets, and other products such as geocells, preformed geocomposites, and geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs). Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: transportation infrastructure, landfills, building construction, liquid containment, mining, and other markets such as agriculture, oil and gas, and utilities.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2018 to 2023; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2018 and 2023.

Unless stated otherwise, the term “geotextiles” refers only to synthetic geotextiles, as natural fiber geotextiles are not included in the scope of this report. Plastic geopipes are also excluded. Geotextiles made from natural fibers are not categorized as geosynthetics unless they include some portion of synthetic material, such as polypropylene or polyester netting. Therefore, natural fiber geotextiles with no synthetic material content are excluded from the scope of this report.
