Freeze-drying equipment are used to maintain physical state, and chemical properties of substances such as pharmaceuticals, and others. Freeze-drying is also defined as lyophilization in which low temperature is used for freezing the product. The freeze-dryer traditionally is used to dehydrate high-value pharmaceutical products (medicines and therapeutics), biotechnological products (blood cells, plasma, viruses, vaccines, proteins, peptides,.), limited food products (coffee, spices, meats, food ingredients, and dehydrated fruits), and most recently has been utilized to produce nanomaterials, specifically nanoparticles, nanospheres, or nanocapsules. The process consists of three separate, unique, and interdependent processes named freezing, primary drying (sublimation), and secondary drying (desorption). Lyophilization or freeze drying is a process in which water is removed from a product after it is frozen, and pis laced under a vacuumthat allowes the ice to change directly from solid to vapor without passing through a liquid phase. The lyophilization process includes the steps such as dissolving the drug and excipients in a suitable solvent, , sterilizing the bulk solution by passing it through a 0.22 micron bacteria-retentive filter. Freeze-dryers are regularly designed with four basic components: a drying chamber, a vacuum pump, a heat source, and a condenser.
Market Dynamics
Increasing inorganic strategies such as product launches by the key market players is expected to drive the market growth over the forecast period. For instance, in June 2021, SP Industries, a freeze-drying and laboratory consumables manufacting company, launched SP Hull LyoStar 4.0, a pilot-scale lyophilizer that offers good shelf mapping and rapid shelf- freezing for unmatched process accuracy and reliability. The lyophilizer offers superior shelf temperature mapping and rapid shelf freezing.
