Tweezers are small hand tools used to grab things that are too small to be handled by human fingers. They are forceps with a thumb drive that most likely evolved from tongs. They are commonly referred to as forceps in scientific or medical contexts. Tweezers are made up of two third-class levers joined at one fixed end (the fulcrum point of each lever) and pincers at the other. They are frequently held in a pen grip between the thumb and index finger, with the top end resting on the first dorsal interosseous muscle at the webspace between the thumb and index finger. Until finger pressure is applied, spring tension keeps the grabbing ends apart. This allows the user to hold, manipulate, and swiftly release small or delicate things with easily adjusted pressure. Tweezers are one of the essential item in the first-aid kit. They can be used to pick small particles of debris from a cut or to remove a splinter. If someone is bitten by a tick or insect with a stinger, tweezers can be helpful to remove the tick or pull the stinger from the skin.
