Poland’s expanding aerospace sector is playing a significant role in driving the demand for permanent magnets. The country has established a robust network of aerospace clusters that support the broader European aerospace industry. One of the key initiatives is the Wielkopolska Aerospace Cluster, which collaborates with six major aerospace component manufacturers, including Pratt & Whitney, PZL Kalisz, Vac Aero, Meyer Tool, Hamilton Sundstrand, and Teknequip Kalisz. In addition, other prominent clusters-Aviation Valley, the Lower Silesian Air Cluster, and the Silesian Aviation Cluster-are attracting substantial investments from leading aerospace firms focused on research, development, and production of advanced aircraft components.
A notable milestone in this sector came in March 2023, when PZL Mielec, one of Poland’s oldest aircraft manufacturers, announced the completion of the first two structures for the latest F-16 fighter jet model, Block 70/72. Such achievements enhance the competitiveness of Poland’s aerospace industry within Central and Eastern Europe's defense sector. As investment and innovation in aerospace continue to grow, so too does the need for high-performance permanent magnets essential for modern aircraft technologies.
