With the exception of a few hybrid devices, curing lights have experienced little technological change in the last five years. Since the adoption of light-emitting diode (LED) technology, curing lights have not changed drastically, except for the development of multi-functional curing lights by some manufacturers. This compounded by the fact that the curing light market has a high penetration rate means that strong growth is not expected in this segment. Diminishing demand for the plasma arc and halogen curing lights is also expected because of the availability of less expensive and more efficient substitutes. As a result, this market is expected to remain fairly stable as any growth in unit sales is quickly offset by declines in price.
