Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. (Diavik Diamond) explores processes and markets diamonds. The company operates the Diavik diamond mine in Canada. The mine is a joint venture between Diavik Diamond Mines Inc (60%) and Harry Winston Diamond Limited Partnership (40%). It lies 220 km south of the Arctic Circle and on the bed of lake Lac de Gras, Canada. Currently, the mine stretches approximately 10 sq km and has an expected mine life of 16 to 22 years. The Diavik Diamond Mine ore reserve consists of three diamond bearing kimberlite pipes called A154 North, A154 South and A418. All the three pipes are situated offshore East Island, beneath the waters of Lac de Gras. It also operates a processing plant with a capacity of 2 million tons of ore annually. Diavik Diamond is headquartered in Yellowknife, Canada.
