Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), a subsidiary of Uttar Pradesh (UP) State Government is planning to undertake the construction of Jewar International Airport Development Project in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The project involves the construction of an international airport with capacity 50 million passengers per annum on 3,000ha of land. It includes the construction of an airport terminal, runways, retail facilities, boarding gates, waiting lounges, control rooms, office space, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.
In June 2013, a consortium of Rites Ltd and KPMG Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd was appointed as the consultant for the project. The scope of the contract covers techno-economic feasibility report to assess the potential of setting up of an international airport.
On March 4, 2014, Uttar Pradesh government granted permission for acquiring around 20ha of land for the project.
In April 2016, Uttar Pradesh government submitted a proposal for site clearance approvals to Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA).
In July 2016, Union government conducted an obstacle limitation survey (OLS) on development.
In August 2016, a no-objection certificate (NOC) was given by the Ministry of Defense (MoD).
In June 2017, YEIDA received site clearance approvals from MoCA.
