The project involves the construction of a 150 tonnes per day (TPA) waste-to-energy plant.
It includes the construction of two fluidized-bed gasification and melting systems, each with a capacity of 75TPA, a steam-turbine power-generation, a hot-water-supply system that runs on waste heat produced in the incineration process and related infrastructure, and the installation of equipment.
In December 2014, YAEOA awarded US$156 million contracts to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environmental & Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd (MHIEC), a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd (MHI) as the contractor on design, build and operate (DBO) basis for a period of 20 years and six months.
