Windlab Systems Pty Ltd (Windlab) and Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (Eurus) are jointly planning to build a combined solar and wind farm park in Queensland, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a combined solar and wind power plant. It includes the construction of 23.0MW DC / 19.2MW AC solar photovoltaic (PV), 21.6MW wind farm and a 2MW/4MWh lithium ion battery storage facility.
The project is planned to be developed in two phases.
The first phase includes the construction of a 40MW solar farm and a 40MW wind farm, and the installation of six wind turbines and 64,000 solar panels on an 80ha area. The second phase includes the construction of a 600MW solar farm and a 600MW wind farm.
The project also includes the construction of substations, wind towers, solar panel platforms and access roads, the installation of transformers and generators and the laying of transmission lines
On October 26, 2015, Windlab and Eurus signed a 50/50 joint venture (JV) agreement to build the project.
In January 2016, the first 19.2 MW solar farm of the first phase has been shortlisted by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) for long-term funding support from the State Government and asked to submit a final application.
As of April 2017, Windlab and Eurus are in negotiations with the council to finalize the agreements for the development. Subject to the finalization of the agreements, the construction work on the project is expected to commence in fourth quarter of 2017.
