In November 2015, Wincome submitted plans to demolish the Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites and build a luxury hotel on the site with the Anaheim City Council for approvals.

On April 18, 2016, Wincome received approvals from Anaheim Planning Commission and will be sending to city council in May 2016.

In September 2016, a group representing union hotel workers and Anaheim residents has submitted a referendum petition to the city council challenging the project proposals.

Good Hope International's proposal for the city subsidy has been approved.
