The project involves the construction of an LNG export facility with a capacity of one million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

On July 8, 2014, WILNG signed an agreement with the City of Prince Rupert to purchase Watson Island.
However, before the land can be sold to WILNG, the city of Prince Rupert need to settle a lawsuit launched by the WILNG, which includes certificates of pending litigation on the site.
