White Horse Australia Holdings Pty Ltd (WHAHPL) is planning to undertake the redevelopment of Lindeman Island project in the Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia.

The project involves the redevelopment of the former Club Med Resort into a five and six-story resort complex.

The project includes the construction of a five-star beach resort, six-star spa resort, five-star eco resort, luxury camping facilities, 335 suites and villas across five resort precincts, a central village comprising retail outlets, restaurants, bars and facilities to support the complex, a 50 berth marina, an upgrade of the existing private airstrip, reconfiguration of land tenure around the resort including revocation of an area of National Park, environmental enhancements including coral planting, a GBR educational center, nature reserve and vegetation replanting programs.

Port Douglas-based architects Hunt Design, BDA Architects and an unnamed Gold Coast architecture firm
have been appointed as the planners, Eastview Australia appointed as project manager, DBI design appointed as architect, and Cardno as an environmental consultant.

As of August 2016, preparation of environmental impact statement (EIS) process underway.

Eastview Australia Pty Ltd has been terminated from the project.

In July 2017, WHAHPL submitted the EIS for public consultation and last date for comments as September 4, 2017.

Scope

The project involves the redevelopment of former Club Med Resort located in the Whitsundays Islands, Queensland, Australia.
