The Welsh Government (WG) is planning to construct an international airport in Caldicot, the UK.
The project involves the construction of a new international airport on an island in the Severn Estuary. The project will include the construction of passenger terminals, a 4,000m runway, an apron, an administrative space, waiting halls, taxiways, retail space, and parking and other related facilities.
HOK International has been appointed to undertake feasibility study, MSP Solutions Ltd as study consultant and Origin3 Studio as design consultant.
WG has submitted the project plans to the Airport Commission for approvals in August 2013.
In April 2016, the project was put on hold due to political and environmental issues.
