The Welsh government (WG) is planning to upgrade the A40 Llanddewi Velfrey to Penblewin roundabout bypass road in Pembrokeshire, Wales, the UK.
The project involves the upgrade of a 2.5km carriageway section to the north of Llanddewi Velfrey and a 2.5km bypass road to the west of Ffynnon Wood. It includes the construction of interchanges, bridges, road intersections, service roads, culverts and related infrastructure, and the installation of signaling and safety systems.
In October 2015, Arcadis was appointed as associated developer.
On March 26, 2016, WG issued a tender on a design and build basis with a submission deadline of April 22, 2016.
In April 2016, environmental surveys started.
In February 2017, Carillion Plc has been appointed as the Construction contractor.
Construction is slated to commence in September 2018 and is scheduled to be completed by September 2020.
