The Croydon Partnership (CP), a joint venture between Westfield (WDC), Hammerson (HMSO) and Whitgift Foundation (WF) plans to construct the Croydon Whitgift Center redevelopment project in South London, the UK.

The project involves the construction of 173,684m2 mixed-use facilities which will be implemented in two phases.

It includes the construction of retail space, a family leisure centre with a state-of-the-art cinema and bowling, restaurants and bars, 250-bedroom hotel or accommodation for around 500 students, office space, 1000 new homes in five towers range from 29-49 stories, 300 shops and 3,140 car parking spaces are planned plus an initial 300 spaces for cyclists and related facilities and the installation of elevators and safety systems.

The first Phase will consist of the commercial development and residential Towers I and II and the substructure for residential Towers III, IV and V and the second phase involves the construction of the remaining residential development for Towers III, IV, and V.

Spacehub has been appointed as a Landscape architect and WSP Global as Transport engineer.

In May 2013, CP appointed Allies & Morrison, and Leonard Design Architects to draw up the masterplan.

In February 2014, London Borough of Croydon granted planning permission to the CP’s outline planning application for the redevelopment of the Whitgift Centre.

In April 2014, London Borough of Croydon granted planning permission.

In July 2014, CP submitted a planning application to create an enhanced pedestrian entrance to the Whitgift shopping centre from North End.

CP secured planning approvals from the Croydon Council on November 14, 2017.

In January 2018, project secured final approvals from the London City Council.

Demolition work is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2018 and the construction is scheduled to commence in 2019.Scope
