Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC) is planning to renovate its college campus in Youngwood, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, the US.
The project involves the renovation and upgrade of three buildings on its main campus and will be developed in two phases.
It includes the construction of a building to house new science labs and consolidate instructional space for science programs, a science hall, a founders hall, a commissioners hall, a business and industry center, classrooms, administrative space, parking and related facilities, and the development of campus grounds.
The project will be funded through a US$31.5 million state loan, grants, and money raised through the WCCC non-profit foundation.
JMZ Architects has been appointed as architect for the project.
In April 2016, WCCC trustees approved an updated master plan for the project.
In July 2016, WCCC selected CannonDesign to commence designs works on the project and is in the process of selecting a construction management team to oversee the project.
On August 3, 2016, Turner has been awarded US$2.1 million construction manager contract.
Subject to approval, the project will take eight years to complete.
