The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is planning to undertake the construction of a dam in Punjab, Pakistan.

Bids on EPC basis invited on January 5, 2010, and a letter of acceptance issued to the lowest bidder M/s Dongfeng-Technical Associates & Habib Construction JV on September 9, 2010. However, due to insufficient funding and demand of higher cost by the contractor, the letter of acceptance has been canceled.
In August 2013, WAPDA re-invited expressions of interest (EoI) from companies for providing engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) services for the project.
Five firms - M/s. CWE – TTP JV, M/s. NLC Engineers, M/s. CRFGC – SMADB – ZEALCON JV, M/s. DESCON Engineering Limited, M/s. NEL - SINOHYDRO JV submitted Technical and financial proposals for the project.
In September 2013, WAPDA invited expressions of interest (EoI) for management consultant services of the project.
In September 2015, the government ordered to revise the plans of the project.
In June 2017, WAPDA secured US$2 million funds under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2016/17 for various power and water projects.
As of July 2017, feasibility study and designing activities have been completed.
