Vornado/Charles E. Smith (Vornado), the Washington division of Vornado Realty Trust (VRT) is planning to undertake the Penplace Development project in Arlington County, Virginia, the US.
The project involves the construction of a mixed-use complex on a 4ha area featuring 167,225m2 of gross floor area (GFA).
The project will include the construction of two 22-story office buildings, a 19-story office building on 168,061m2 area, one 18-story hotel comprising 300 rooms, a 22-story high-rise residential tower with 300 residential units, retail facility on a 4,645m2 area, a streetcar maintenance facility and other related facilities.
Fxfowle Architects has been appointed as an architect, Landscape Architecture Bureau as the Landscape Architect and VIKA Incorporated as the Civil Engineer for the project.
In September 2013, the project received the site plan approval from Arlington County Board.
In the first quarter of 2017, the project was kept on hold.
In June 2017, Vornado re-submitted the development plans to the Arlington County Board for approvals.
Planning activities are underway.
