Vale is developing the Moju Palm Oil Biodiesel Plant: Unit II project with the production capacity of 65,000 tons per annum at the municipality of Moju, in the state of Para, Brazil.
The project involves the construction of a processing unit and plantation of the palm tree over a total area of 175,000 hectares.
It also includes the construction of storage units, heat recovery system, gasifiers, plasma-enhanced melter, thermal residence chamber, and other related infrastructures.
The processing unit will convert the palm oil into biodiesel for use in machines of the company, ships, trains, and trucks.
