United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) is undertaking the expansion of ground package hub in Jacksonville, Florida, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 34,908.59m2 ground package hub. It includes the construction of a distribution facility, warehouse, loading and unloading facility, administrative spaces, 727 parking spaces and related facilities and the installation of automation equipment and conveyor system.
Out of the total project cost around US$46 million will be spent in land and real estate improvements and remaining US$150 million in equipment, furniture and fixtures.
Dan Boswell & Associates Inc. has been appointed as a planning consultant; RS&H Inc. as design and engineering consultant; and Kajima Building and Design, Inc. as the main contractor for the project.
In November 2016, Jacksonville City Council approved US$4.3 million in property tax rebate to the project.
As of August 2017, construction works are underway and scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019.
