The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), under the directive of Government of Uganda, is planning to construct a four-lane, dual carriage expressway in Uganda.
The project involves the construction of a 50km road between Kampala and Bombo via Matugga including access roads, medians and related infrastructures, and the installation of signalling systems and lights.
The project is planned to be implemented on the public-private partnership (PPP) basis.
In October 2013, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank, was appointed as transaction adviser.

In March 2015, detailed design works commenced.
Public consultation on the project is underway.
