Uzice Municipality (UM) is planning to undertake the Waste Water Treatment System project in Uzice, Serbia.

The project involves the reconstruction of the existing system and construction of new plumbing and sewerage plant to utilize waste waters through a modern unit.

It will include the laying of 50km of asbestos pipes on the primary branch of the water supply system from Vrutci to the city, as well as in the city itself, would be replaced in the first phase, which would be followed by the construction of new sewerage and the replacement of old pipes, access roads, and related infrastructural facilities.

The final phase will include the construction of the unit for collecting, transporting and treating waste waters.

The European Union and Government of Serbia will provide 70 percent and 25 percent of financial support respectively. Remaining five percent will be financed through procurement of land and resolving of ownership-legal relations.

In December 2011, KFW granted US$19 million loan for the development of the project.

European Union will fund the construction of waste water treatment plant in Uzice.
