The Houston Airport System (HAS), and United Continental Holdings, Inc. (UAL) are jointly undertaking the George Bush Intercontinental Airport Terminal B Redevelopment project in Houston, Texas, the US.

The project involves the construction of a new Terminal B south concourse dedicated to domestic regional jet operations. The project is being implemented in three phases.

Phase I includes the construction of a new Terminal B south concourse. Phases II & III includes construction of a Central Terminal B Lobby, baggage claim areas, a new international-capable north concourse for mainline and regional jets, a New Terminal B Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility and replacement of boarding gates, other infrastructure improvements.

In April 2008, Houston’s City Council approved the project plans.

PGAL has been appointed as the architects; Skanska USA, Inc as the EPC contractor; and SpawGlass Civil Construction, Inc as the Enabling Contractor on Phase I.

The construction works on phase one had been commenced in January 2012 and completed in April 2013.

In May 2013, Fifteen gates of the new Terminal B south concourse have been opened.

The project is under early planning stage.
