The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) is planning to build a double track rail line from Angelholm to Romares väg, Helsingborg in Skane, Sweden.
The project involves the construction of a 24km double track rail line from Angelholm to Romares vag, Helsingborg. It includes the construction of four stations, bridges, a new bicycle and pedestrian tunnel, 10 level crossings and related infrastructure, the installation of signaling systems and information boards, and the laying of railway tracks.
On June 10, 2009, the Helsingborg Council signed a letter of intent (LoI) with the Swedish Rail Administration, Region Skane and Angelholm Council to build the project.
In 2010, Trafikverket conducted a feasibility study.
On June 12, 2014, Trafikverket issued a tender to appoint a consultant.
Sweco Rail AB appointed to undertake a railway plan, environmental impact statement and system action for the project.
Trafikverket conducted public consultation meetings in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The project will be financed by Region Skåne and the Helsingborg Council.
Svevia has been appointed as a contractor to build the new bicycle and pedestrian tunnel.
In January 2017, construction works commenced on a US$2.8 million new bicycle and pedestrian tunnel at Ringstorpsvägen and is scheduled to be completed by November 2017.
In February 2018, Sweco was appointed as a consultant for the project. The scope work includes the preparation of the tender documents for a design-build contract, manage required permits, take inventory of necessary noise reduction measures for nearby properties, and carry out site supervision in collaboration with the Trafikverket.
Construction expected to commence in the first quarter of the 2019 and is scheduled to be complete by 2024.
