Trans-Asia Renewable Energy Corp (Tarec), a subsidiary of Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation, is planning to undertake the construction of a wind farm in Sibunag, Guimaras province, the Philippines.
The project involves the construction of a 40MW wind farm.
The project includes the construction of substations and powerhouse, and the installation of 20 wind turbines, generators, converters, transformers and power control systems, and the laying of transmission lines.
The Department of Energy (DoE) has given the approval to conduct a grid impact study on the wind project and the final decision on the project would depend on developments on the feed-in-tariff (FIT) scheme.
As of May 2017, Tarec finalized the 16 wind turbine generators with a capacity of 2.5MW each.
