Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning for the upgrade of segments H&I of the State Highway 99 ring road in Texas, the US.
The project involves the construction of an 85km section of highway along the Grand Parkway toll road. It includes the construction of two lanes in each direction between the US 59 and I-10, four lanes between the I-10 and SH 146, 74 bridges, upgrade of tolling infrastructure from I-10 to FM 1405.
The project includes the construction of culverts, service roads, intersections and related infrastructure, and the installation of signaling systems.
On June 26, 2014, TxDOT unveiled the project plans.
On July 31, 2014, TxDOT invited the bids for Request For Qualification (RFQ) process.
On April 30, 2015, TxDOT invited the qualified bids for Request For Proposals (RFP) process.
On March 28, 2017, Grand Parkway Infrastructure a joint-venture between Ferrovial Ag roman US Corp., Webber LLC and Granite Construction Inc. was awarded a design-build contract by TxDOT.
On June 30, 2017, TxDOT executed a Design-Build Agreement and associated Capital Maintenance Agreement with Grand Parkway Infrastructure for the design, construction and capital maintenance of the project.
As of August 2017, pre-construction activities are underway.
Construction is expected to commence by the first quarter of 2018 and to be completed by 2022.
