Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is undertaking to construct a natural gas-fired power plant in Tennessee, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 1,070MW gas-based power generation facility.

It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation, a cooling tower and related infrastructure, the installation of transformers, generators, steam turbines, power control units, and the laying of transmission lines.

In July 2014, TVA completed a draft environmental assessment to replace the Allen coal plant.

In August 2014, TVA Board approved the project. In January 2015, General Electric Co. was appointed to supply two high-efficiency 7HA.02 gas turbine generators.

In June 2015, Kiewit Power Group Inc. secured Construction contract. On September 17, 2015, Public hearing held on the project.

On November 17, 2015, Tennessee Valley Authority and Kiewit Power Group Inc. have applied two building permits, US$5 million building permit for an office building and US$1.4 million permit for a trailer build-out to DOE.

In January 2016, construction works are commenced and expected to be complete by June 2018.
