Triangle Transit (TT), is planning to undertake the construction of a light rail line in North Carolina, the US.
The light rail line will run via UNC Hospital, Meadowmont, Patterson Place, South Square, Duke University Medical Center and Duke University.
The project involves the construction of a 28km light rail line. It includes the construction of 18 stations, platforms and other related infrastructure, the installation of signaling systems, safety equipment, and the laying of railway tracks.
The project will be funded through 50 percent federal funds, 25 percent local funds and 25 percent state funds.

In September 2015, a public meeting was held to talk about funding for the project. The project will be funded with 50% federal money, 25% state money and 25% local money.
In February 2016, TT received Final Environmental Impact Statement from FTA.
In October 2016, Durham County Commission approved the addition of a stop at NC Central University in Durham.
Federal Transit Administration (FTA) granted approvals for the project in July 2017.
As of August 2017, 30 percent of engineering design activities were completed on the project.
