The Transport and Technical Services of the States of Jersey (T&TS) is planning to construct a sewage treatment plant in St Helier, Jersey, the UK.
The project involves the construction of a sewage treatment plant with a processing capacity of 71,000 tons of wastewater per day.
The project includes the construction of sewage pumping stations, diversion chambers, a reservoir, storage facilities and related infrastructure, the installation of equipment, and the laying of pipelines.
Farrans Construction, Geomarine, and Pell Frischman have been appointed as civil engineers and Sweco UK as the technical consultant for the project.
On July 1, 2015, Doosan Enpure Ltd (Doosan), a subsidiary of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, was appointed as the contractor.
The contract will be undertaken in two distinct packages: the first is for a period of early contractor involvement (ECI) to develop the concept design, followed by a second package to design and build the plant.
In March 2017, the planning application has been submitted to Jersey Planning and Environment Department for the approvals.
As of July 2017, T&TS is waiting for the planning approvals and simultaneously preliminary works are underway which are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.
Construction works are expected to commence in February 2018 and scheduled to be completed in July 2022.
