TransCanada Corporation (TRP) is planning to undertake the construction of a gas pipeline in Ontario, Canada.
The project involves the construction of a 245km of new 36-inch natural gas pipeline. It includes the construction of storage tanks, Construction of nine new 11MW compressor units at 5 existing stations, pumping stations and other related facilities, the installation of metering devices and , safety systems and the laying of pipelines.
In June 2014, National Energy Board (NEB) is providing US$300,000 funding to participate in the regulatory process.
In July 2014, TRP submitted an application to NEB for formally commencing an environmental assessment.
In June 2016, NEB has commenced reviewing the application, which is expected to take 21 months.
Review of projects plans are underway with construction expected to commence in 2018 and completion scheduled in 2020.
