The Remington Group Inc (TRG) is planning to undertake the construction of a mixed-use complex project in Ontario, Canada.

The project involves the construction of a 107,555m2 shopping/residential complex. It will be constructed in two phases.

The first phase includes the construction of seven-level parking structure and one-level underground parking garage comprising 3400 spaces and accommodation for up to 700 retail operations.

The second phase 'The Grand Residences' includes the construction of two residential towers of 25- and 30-story comprising 450 residential units.

The project will include the construction of 360 retail stores, boutiques, shops, retail space, commercial space and related facilities, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.

It will also include the construction of 9,290m2 indoor night market, tour-bus drop-off bays, white roof which will reflect up to 90% of sunlight, a 2.4ha tree-lined public space with a fountain that converts into an ice rink.

MCW Consultants Ltd has been appointed as an electrical engineer, Jablonsky, Ast and Partners International as a structural engineer, Lightspark Group as an interior designer, and Kohn Architects Inc. as an architect.

The Remington Group Inc (TRG) in-house division will undertake the construction works for the project.

On January 20, 2014, RG has filed a building permit application with Markham City Council.

In 2015, Environmental Assessment (EA) study for the grade separation of Steeles Avenue and the GO Rail line was commenced.

In December 2016, The EA for the Steeles Avenue grade separation has been advanced.

Subject to approvals, construction works on the project is expected to completed by 2020.

The project involves the construction of a 107,555m2 mixed-use facility at the corner of Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

The US$400 million project includes the following:

2. Construction of shopping complex

6. Construction of seven-level parking and one-level underground parking garage comprising 3455 spaces

7. Construction of 450 residential units

8. Construction of a hotel tower

9. Construction of a residential tower

10. Installation of elevators

11. Installation of safety and security systems

12. Construction of related facilities
