Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) is undertaking the upgrade of a highway section in New South Wales, Australia.

The project involves the upgrade of a 7.5km existing undivided lane highway into three lanes divided by a central median for the full length.

It includes the construction of nine intersections, lane and shoulder widening, upgrading drainage system, installation of concrete and wire rope safety barriers, thoroughfares, medians, side rails, retaining walls of bridges and the installation of traffic signals and information boards.

In the fourth quarter of 2014, Seymour Whyte Ltd. was appointed as a construction contractor.

In December 2014, construction works on the project commenced.

In June 2016, NSW government committed US$33 million in the 2016 - 2017 state budget for the project.

In July 2016, piling on the western side of the Whites Creek for the concrete arch and the turning circle on McKanes Falls Road was completed.

In July 2017, Upgrades along the Great Western Highway at Hartley Valley has been completed.

Final construction activities along Forty Bends are underway and expected to be completed by 2017.

The Forty Bends road project involves the upgrade of a 7.5km existing undivided lane highway into three lanes divided by a central median for the full length at South Bowenfels, New South Wales, Australia.
