Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH) is planning to undertake the construction of a Cancer Treatment Facility in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
The project involves the construction of a 150-bed cancer treatment facility on 2ha land.
The project will include the construction of a Hadron Beam therapy center, laboratories, an operation unit, a diagnosis center, an administrative facility and other related facilities, and the installation of equipment and safety systems.
In January 2014, a foundation stone was laid for the project.
HLL Lifecare Ltd has been appointed as PMC for the project.
The project will be funded by the Government of India.
On August 14, 2014, TMH issued a notice to submit expression of Interest (EOI) to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the project with submission a submission deadline of September 12, 2014.
Varian Medical Systems (VMS) and Ion Beam Applications Ltd (IBA) has submitted bids for the tender.
However, VMS has filed a petition against TMH and Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) in Bombay high court against the decision to award the contract to Ion Beam in violation of norms, also to quash the bidding process and pleaded that a fresh tender may be allowed.
In December 2017, TMH invited tenders for Comprehensive Architectural Consultancy Services for Construction with a submission date of February 12, 2018.
