Tullow Oil Plc (TLW) is planning to develop a gas field in Uganda.
The project involves the construction of a gas field. It will include the construction of a 50MW power plant expandable to 85MW, gas pipelines and condensate storage facilities, and the installation of facilities for production of gas from the Nzizi gas field, drilling of well, rig establishment.
Tullow has drilled three appraisal wells and confirmed the 800 MBOE P2 resource base. The gas produced from the field will be supplied to the proposed 50MW power plant near the field.
In March 2012, TLW submitted a revised field development plan to the government of Uganda to receive a production licence for the project implementation.
Wood Group Renewable Energy Services has been appointed as front-end engineering and design (FEED) work contractor.
On August 30, 2016, TLW was granted production licence to start project implementation works.
The project involves the construction of a gas field at Uganda Block II in Hoima, Uganda.
The US$300 million project includes the following:
