Texas High-Speed Rail and Transportation Corporation (THSRTC) is planning to construct a high-speed intercity passenger rail line in Texas, the US.
The project envisages the construction of a 789km high-speed intercity passenger rail line between Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston. The project will feature new complete grade separated, mostly elevated, dual-directional, double tracked rail infrastructure capable of accommodating passenger travel at speeds in excess of 200 322kmph.
The THSRTC vision is to extend the Texas T-Bone north from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex into Oklahoma City and into Tulsa and east from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, generally along the I-30 Corridor, through Franklin and Bowie Counties into North Little Rock in Arizona and potentially into Memphis in Tennessee.
Texas Central Railway signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Federal Railroad Administration and Texas Department of Transportation to develop the project in 2009.
As of August 2015, environmental impact study works was underway and scheduled to complete by the first quarter of 2017.
As of August 2016, the City Council voted to accept US$1.5 million from Texas Central Railway to pay for an engineering study.
Feasibility studies on the development are underway.
