Tampa Housing Authority (THA) is planning to build a mixed-income residential complex in Florida, the US.
The project involves the construction of a residential complex comprising 820 mixed-use homes on 79ha of land. It includes the construction of a community center, a fitness center, parking and related facilities.
THA, the City of Tampa, McCormack Baron Salazar Inc. and Urban Strategies, Inc. prepared master plans for the project.
AECOM has been appointed as planner, Urban Design Associates and Cooper Johnson Smith Architects as architects, Element Engineering Group as civil engineer, Tierra, Inc. as geotechnical engineer, Crossroads Engineering, Inc. as transportation consultant, Cappell Roberts Communications, Inc and Fishkind & Associates as marketing consultants.
On January 30, 2014, THA submitted the conceptual master development plan to the Tampa City Council.
The project planning process was completed in nine months under the multi-disciplinary team led by McCormack Baron Salazar (MBS) and Urban Strategies.
In June 2016, Related Urban Development Group (RUDG), a joint venture of The Urban Development Group and The Related Group was appointed as associated developer.
In August 2016, RUDG entered into a 50-50 partnership with THA to form the West River Development Group, LLC for the development of the project.
Planning activities are underway.
