The project involves the construction of a 55,742m2 pork processing plant on 101ha of land with the capacity to slaughter 3 million hogs per annum.
It includes the construction of a processing unit, a warehouse, cold storage units, a packaging unit, an administrative facility, and the installation of machinery.
On June 23, 2015, Sioux City officials approved the land sale for the project.
On August 4, 2015, the Sioux City city council approved a traffic study for the project. A. Epstein and Sons International, Inc has been appointed as the general contractor.
In September 2015, ground breaking ceremony held.
Construction activities are underway and scheduled to be completed by September 2017.
