Sunwise Capital Ltd, is planning to build a concentrated solar power plant in Sardinia, Italy.
The project involves the construction of a thermodynamic solar power plant on 235ha of land. The plant will have a power generation capacity of 50MW and will feature 1,056 solar panels (176 loops). It includes construction of a150 kV underground cable between the plant and the new substation along the RTN 220 kV Sulcis-Oristano line.
The plant will use the integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) parabolic trough collector as heat transfer fluid technology with molten salt as prime source of heat transfer fluid (HTF). The plant will use Archimede HCEMS-11 70mm diameter tubes to transfer the steam, which are capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 550 degrees.
The project development work was supposed to commence in 2015, however, there has been delay due to changes in legislation.
The project involves the construction of a 50MW solar power plant on 235ha of land in Bonorva, Sardinia, Italy.
The US$388 million project involves the following:
1. Construction of a substation
2. Construction of water inflow system
3. Installation of the 1,056 solar panels
4. Laying of 70mm diameter pipelines/tubes to transfer steam
