Steelcons Empreiteira e Construcao Civil Ltda. a subsidiary of Atlas Renewable Energy is planning to undertake the construction of an 80 MW Steelcons Sol do Futuro solar photovoltaic complex on an area of 151ha in Aquiraz, Ceara, Brazil.
The project involves the construction of three wind farms Steelcons Sol do Futuro I (27 MW), Steelcons Sol do Futuro II (27 MW), Steelcons Sol do Futuro III (27 MW).
It also includes the construction of substations, powerhouses, a central receiver system and condenser units, the installation of photovoltaic cells, and the laying of transmission lines.
In-House divisions of the developers are responsible for the construction works.
In September 2015, Steelcons participated in ANEEL energy auction and won the photovoltaic complex to build in Aquiraz.
In October 2016, the project name is changed from Steelcons Miracema 1, Steelcons Miracema 2 and Steelcons Miracema 3 to Steelcons Sol do Futuro I, Steelcons Sol do Futuro II and Steelcons Sol do Futuro III.
In May 2017, Steelcons Sol do Futuro Photovoltaic Complex was approved by Conselho Estadual do Meio Ambiente (Coema).
In December 2017, Astronergy a subsidiary of Chint solar signed an 80MW PV module supply contract with Atlas Renewable Energy.
In February 2018, Ministry of Mines and Energy listed the project under Regime Especial de Incentivos para o Desenvolvimento da Infraestrutura – REIDI to grant tax incentives.
