Sanpellegrino S.p.A. (Sanpellegrino) plans to build a bottling factory in San Pellegrino Terme, Lombardy, Italy.
The project involves the construction of a 17,000m2 bottling factory. It will be developed in four phases.
The first phase includes the construction of a bridge linking the bottling plant with the commune of Zogno. However, the scope on the rest of the phases is yet to be revealed.
The project also includes the construction of headquarters building, an auditorium, an arcade, an avenue, a piazza, a portico, and parking facilities and the installation of machinery and equipment.
Spellegrino issued a design competition for the project on July 22, 2016. In response to the competition, four architects namely: MVRDV; Snøhetta; aMDL Michele De Lucchi Studio; and Bjarke Ingels Group submitted their design proposals on September 15, 2016.
Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) won the competition and appointed as the architect for the project on February 15, 2017.
Atelier Verticale and Studio Piero Castiglioni have been appointed as the architects; Luca Molinari Studio, Arup Italia Srl, WET Design, Front Inc and Squint/Opera as design consultants; West 8 Urban Design & Landscape Architecture as landscape architect; Mobility In Chain (MIC) as traffic consultant; Schlaich Bergermann and Partner as structural engineer for the project.
Design activities are underway and the construction is expected to begin in 2018.
