Sibanye Gold Limited (Sibanye) is a gold mining company. It owns and operates gold and uranium underground projects in Witwatersrand Basin, South Africa. The company’s key activities include exploration, underground mining, treatment and processing, surface tailings retreatment, beneficiation, and sale of produced commodities. Sibanye primarily operates through four mines: Cooke, Driefontein, Kloof projects and the Beatrix mine. The Driefontein mine is located in the Oberholzer district and has six operating shaft systems; and Kloof mine is located in Westonaria district and owns five producing shaft complexes. In addition, its Beatrix mine is located in Free State province of South Africa with a total area of 16,817 hectares. As of December 2015, the company held gold mineral reserves of 31.0 million ounces (Moz) and uranium mineral reserves of 113.8 million pounds (Mlb). Sibanye is headquartered in Westonaria, South Africa.
