Summary

Shell, Nexus Energy Limited (NXS) and Osaka Gas Company, Ltd (OGCL) are jointly undertaking the Crux gas and condensate field development project in Western Australia, Australia.

The project involves the construction of a gas field to explore the reserves of around 8.64 million cubic meters per annum of condensate liquids.

It includes the construction of a floating, production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, a LNG plant, a LNG terminal, storage tankers, water treatment facilities and offshore support vessels, the installation of offshore templates, vapor handling system, fiber optic cables, gas compression and re-injection facility, heating and cooling system, and flare system, and the laying of pipelines.

The FPSO will be of around 300m in length with capacity to store up to 850,000 stock tank barrels of condensate.

The subsea infrastructure development includes three production wells and three injection wells located within 5,500m of the FPSO.

Mustang Engineering, Fluor-Offshore Oil Engineering and McDermott- Qingdao Wuchuan have been appointed as frontend engineering design (FEED) contractors and TGS as geotechnical consultant.

In October 2015, Shell awarded the geophysical and geotechnical survey contract to Neptune Marine Services Pty Ltd. (Neptune). The scope of contract includes the site survey of the Crux gas field and a 160km route survey between the Crux and Prelude gas fields, in water depths ranging from 90m to 280m.

Study activities are underway.
