The project involves the construction of a 36-story, 78,000m2 five-star hotel comprising 280-room W Hotel and 42 serviced apartments.

It includes the construction of an eight-level podium containing high end retail units, office space, 372m2 of meeting space, restaurants, a lounge, a poolside bar, a full-service exclusive spa, a SWEAT fitness center, a health club, a sauna, a steam room and other related facilities, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.

In December 2007, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. signed a management agreement with Saraya.

Perkins & Will has been appointed as architect, Limah Design Consultants as a design consultant, Eagle Hills as an associate developer and Speed house as the Supply contractor.

In December 2012, Dubai Construction Company was appointed as EPC contractor.

Construction activities are underway and slated for completion by the first quarter of 2018.
