Squaw Valley Real Estate, LLC (SVRE), a subsidiary of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, LLC, is planning to undertake the construction of a hotel as part of the Squaw Valley Ski Resort expansion in California, the US.
The project involves construction of a seven-story condo-hotel comprising 850 units with a maximum of 1,493 bedrooms on 38ha of land. It will include the construction of restaurants, food courts, a swimming pool, a conference room, retail space, a parking facility and related facilities, and the installation of safety systems and elevators.
Tully & Young Comprehensive Water Planning Firm has been appointed to study the draft assessment, HydroMetrics Water Resources Inc., has been appointed to prepare the assessment of water supply levels and InterFlow Hydrology, Inc. has been appointed to review the draft and supporting evidence independently. The contract value for InterFlow Hydrology is US$13,500.
In December 2013, SVRE submitted a revised planning application for the project to the city council.
The draft environmental impact report (DEIR) was released on October 31, 2014.
On April 7, 2016, the final EIR was released for the public review.
On May 14, 2016, the Squaw Valley Municipal Advisory Council opposed the project proposals.
The Placer County Planning Commission is expected to consider the project plans o August 11, 2016 meeting.
In November 2016, SVRE secured planning approvals.
