Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Mauritius State Trading Corporation (STC) are jointly planning to construct an oil storage terminals in Mauritius.
The project involves the construction of oil storage terminals. It includes the construction of storage tanks of a total volume of 528,000 MT comprises of two phases and of a jetty of a total length of about 600 m with a draft of about 20 m , a control building, a metering station, a fuel control system and related facilities, and installation of temperature control systems, and the laying of pipelines.
In November 2014, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) is signed between STC, IOC and the MRPL for the proposed development.
On May 8, 2017, Engineers India Ltd has been appointed as study consultant to conduct detailed feasibility study.
Feasibility study for the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018. The construction is expected to start in 2018 and to end in 2021.
