Swire Properties Inc (SP), Whitman Family Development, LLC (WFD) and Simon are undertaking the construction of a mixed-use project in Florida.

The project is developed in two phases. The first phase includes 780 condominiums in two 43-story towers, 390 units each (Reach and Rise Towers), a 40-story hotel East, Miami comprising 352 rooms, 89 serviced apartments, 2,600 parking spaces, 52,490m2 shopping center and 24,154m2 office facilities in two towers namely Two Brickell City Centre and Three Brickell City Centre.

The second phase includes 80-Story One Brickell City Centre mixed-use tower.

Arquitectonica has been appointed as architect, BVM Engineering as the LEED consultant, Arquitectonica GEO as the landscape architect, Kimley Horn & Associates as the traffic consultant, Magnusson Klemencic Associates as the structural engineer, Cosentini Associates as the overall MEP consultant, Tilden Lobnitz Cooper as the MEP consultant for the condominium towers, Kimley-Horn & Associates as the civil engineering works consultant, Pentagram and Hugh Dutton Associates as the architectural design contractor, Josef Gartner GmbH as the general contractor.

SP intends to work with the City of Miami to add the proposed development as an extension of the existing Special Area Plan.

In July 2011, the Miami City Commission approved the project.

In June 2012, the groundbreaking ceremony was held and construction of underground parking garage and foundation works commenced.

In March 2013, Joint Venture of Americaribe Inc and John Moriarty & Associates secured US$500 million Construction contract for the superstructure works in the first phase.

On July 9, 2013, SP purchased the 700 Brickell Avenue site for US$64.1 million.

Construction activities in the superstructure commenced in the third quarter of 2013.

In November 2013, the proposed plans for expansion are submitted before Miami City Commission and secured preliminary approval on February 27, 2014.

On June 24, 2015, second phase tower secured approval from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

In April 2016, construction activities on the first phase Reach tower completed.

In May 2016, construction activities on office facilities and East, Miami hotel completed.

In September 2016, construction activities on the first phase Rise tower completed.

On November 2, 2016, construction of the retail shopping center completed.

Construction of the first phase is completed, and the construction of the second phase is expected to commence in 2018.
