The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) is planning to expand a rail line in South Korea.
The project involves the construction of a 18.4km double track metro rail line connecting Daegok-dong and Sosa through Gimpo International Airport.
It includes the construction of stations, control rooms, platforms and parking facility, the installation of signaling and safety systems, and the laying of tracks.
In January 2012, development proposals were re-initiated.
The project will be developed under build-transfer-operate (BTO) process. Under the terms, private investors receive concessions from the government to finance, construct and operate a business for a limited time and eventually return business ownership to the government.
Seoul/Gyeonggi funded 10% for the project development and the remaining funding will be from private capital investment.
Subject to approval, construction is expected to be completed by June 2021.
