Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG), a company incorporated by the Energy Market Authority is planning to construct the Second LNG Terminal project on the east side of the Jurong Island, Singapore.
The project involves the construction of a LNG receiving terminal with a processing capacity of 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and the terminal could be built as the offshore floating facility which is yet to be confirmed.
The project includes the construction of storage tanks, LPG recovery facilities, unloading facilities, associated civil, utilities infrastructure and condensate recovery facilities and the installation of high pressure send-out pumps, pressure vessels, ancillary terminal facilities, a LNG receiving facility, a vapor handling system, a LNG vaporization system and a hazard monitoring system and the laying of gas pipelines.
Holmwood Consulting Ltd has been appointed as the PMC contractor for the project.
In May 2016, SLNG completed the studies for the various locations of the east side of the Jurong Island. SLNG invited tenders for the feasibility study with the submission deadline as May 20, 2016.
On October 10, 2016, KBR Inc. was awarded the high level feasibility study contract, which includes exploring the possible expansion of the SLNG existing LNG terminal. Under the terms of the contract, KBR will provide feasible conceptual solutions for SLNG's consideration and create a design option that could be scalable in the long run. The study will continue for five months.
The project is in its early stage of development.
