Seya Industries Ltd (SIL) is planning to undertake the construction of a sulphuric acid and speciality chemicals manufacturing plant in Maharashtra, India.
The greenfield project involves the construction of Chlor-alkali plant with a capacity of 270 Tonnes Per Day (TPD), coal-based Captive Power Plants (CPP), synthetic organic chemicals plant of 888 TPD, Sulphuric Acid and allied products plant of 550 TPD on 15.63ha of land.
It includes the construction of an acid production plant, trade effluent treatment plant, domestic waste water treatment plant of 54 Cubic Meters Daily (CMD), a storage space, and distribution units, and the installation of machinery, and safety and security systems.
The synthetic organic chemicals plant is to manufacture paracetamol & acetic anhydride having a total capacity of 48,000 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and byproducts having a capacity of 4,013MTPA.
The capacity of Coal based Captive Power Plant will be CPP-1: Power-11.35MW + Steam-133 TPH and CPP-2: Power-45 MW.
Kadam Environmental Consultants was appointed as an environmental consultant and Goldfinch Engineering Systems Pvt Ltd as study consultant.
On September 17, 2016, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was submitted to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Government of India.
In October 2016, The State Level Expert Appraisal Committee recommended the project for Environmental Clearance subject to water allocation for the project from the Maharashtra government.
SIL awarded the construction contract to an undisclosed company. SIL received the Environmental Clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate.
Engineering design work on the project is underway.
